About Good Evening Europe

2014-05-10 21.13.17

Good Evening Europe is a Norwegian fansite about Eurovision, written in English by Guri and Astrid. We are communications professionals and writers and have shared our passion for Eurovision for years.

We both grew up in the beautiful middle of nowhere, and as kids, the annual Eurovision final was our only share of glamour. Life has later become somewhat more glamorous, but still nothing can beat the extravaganza of the Eurovision grand final. Eurovision moments are meant to be shared, and we give you our thoughts on the songs, the artists, the show, the costumes, the drama and everything else which makes this contest so absolutely wonderful.

Throughout the last 8 years, we’ve had amazing experiences as part of the events meeting fantastic artists, joining extravagant parties and seeing the truly amazing shows. We try our best to share these moments with our readers on this site. Two performances stand out: One being the utter fabulous Marco Mengoni singing “L’Essenziale” for Italy in 2013. The other being one that can never be beaten: Conchita’s “Rise Like a Phoenix” in the second semi final of 2014. You had to be there to fully get it and we’ll always be happy that we were.

We keep on chasing more goosebumps for you.

Astrid’s three favorite Eurovision entries at the moment are: “Främling” by Carola (Sweden, 1983), “I treni di Tozeur” by Alice & Battiato (Italy, 1984) and “Dancing Lasha Tumbai” by Verka Serduchka (Ukraine, 2007).

Guri’s three favorite Eurovision entries at the moment are: “Insieme: 1992” by Toto Cutugno (Italy 1990), “Poupée de cire poupée de son” by France Gall (Luxembourg, 1965) and “Opa” by Giorgos Alkaios and friends (Greece, 2010).
